The ninth edition of the tournament is being co-hosted in the USA and West Indies. It comprises a whooping 55 matches spread across nearly a month-long period. This year’s tournament marks the first time any ICC event is held in the US. Additionally, it features 20 teams, up from 16 in the previous edition which shows the growing popularity of cricket.
The T20 2024 world cup is being played in round-robin format. 20 teams are divided into five groups and the top 2 teams from each group will reach the Super 8 stage which will again include two groups of 4 teams. The top two teams will then head to knockouts comprising two semi-finals and a final.
