As per the latest reports, Canon is gearing up for some new audio solutions for its EOS cameras. Two new accessories, the “DS586234” and “DS586233”, have recently passed 3C and FCC certification. Based on the certification information, these models appear to be a wireless microphone and its receiver, both compatible with the EOS multi-function hot shoe. They also boast Bluetooth and USB functionality, hinting at a versatile user experience.

CanonRumors believes that the wireless microphone might even surpass Sony’s ECMW2BT in terms of performance, but specifics remain under wraps for now.
The arrival of these new accessories aligns with the existing audio input capabilities of the Canon RF system’s electronic hot shoe. This means users will be able to capture high-quality audio directly, eliminating the need for cumbersome cables connecting the camera to an external microphone.
