Huawei launched the Pura 70 smartphone back in April in its domestic market. The device later arrived in global markets like Europe and Malaysia. The brand has now launched the Huawei Pura 70 Beidou Satellite Messaging Edition smartphone, which as the name suggests, will be able to send and receive SMS via satellite.

Tipster WHYLAB has recently shared a couple of posts on Weibo revealing more details about this new device. As per the tipster, the Huawei Pura 70 Satellite SMS Edition, also known as the Huawei Pura 70 Beidou Satellite Messaging Edition, features the Kirin 9010E chipset. For those unaware, the original Pura 70 features a Kirin 9000S1 SoC.

This new chip comes with a 12-core architecture (8 cores, 12 threads), offering two 2.19GHz large cores, six 2.18GHz medium, and four 1.55GHz small cores. As for graphics, it uses Huawei’s self-developed Maleoon 910 750MHz GPU. The tipster has also provided the Geekbench score of the Kirin 9010E chip running on the Huawei Pura 70 Beidou Satellite Messaging Edition 12GB RAM model. It has scored 1358 points on the single-core test and 4343 points on the multi-core test of Geekbench 6.2.2.

The device’s performance seems to be slightly weaker compared to the regular Pura 70 smartphone. This is likely because the Kirin 9010E chip’s large cores are clocked approximately 120MHz lower than those of the Kirin 9000S1. That said, the performance difference isn’t significant enough to hinder daily use. The rest of the specifications on board are the same as the regular Pura 70 model.
