Keychron expands its Q Max series of mechanical keyboards with the introduction of the Q15 Max overseas. This keyboard is specifically designed for enthusiasts of the Ortholinear layout, where keys are arranged in a grid, and starts at US$189 (approximately 1,375 Yuan).

The Q15 Max integrates seamlessly into Keychron’s established Q Max series, also known as the “Aluminum Tuotuo” series. This series already features a wide variety of layouts, including keyboards like the Q0, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q5, Q6, Q8, Q10, Q12, Q60, and Q65 Max.

Built for both style and durability, the Q15 Max features a CNC-machined 6063 aluminum alloy body. A Gasket structure contributes to a softer typing experience, while full-key hot-swap functionality allows users to customize their switches without soldering for a truly personalized feel. South-facing RGB lighting provides vibrant underglow effects, and two programmable multimedia knobs enhance functionality.

The Q15 Max offers a choice of three Gateron custom switches to cater to different typing preferences:

  • Jupiter Tea Axis: This micro-segment axis features a 55g ± 15g operating force.
  • Jupiter Red Axis: A linear axis with a 45g ± 15g operating force.
  • Jupiter Banana Axis: This advanced tactile axis offers a 59g ± 10g operating force.
Keyboard structure

For additional customization, the Q15 Max is compatible with QMK/VIA software, allowing users to remap keys and create macros. Switching between Windows and macOS layouts is a breeze, and the keyboard comes with high-quality XDA profile PBT keycaps for a comfortable typing experience.

Keychron offers several configuration options for the Q15 Max:
