Samsung is expanding its Odyssey OLED G8 monitor lineup with the introduction of a new 34-inch model in France. This follows the launch of the 32-inch Odyssey OLED G8 earlier this year.

The new model is likely to have Samsung’s latest QD-OLED panel tech

The new monitor, model number LS34DG850 (also known as G85SD), is now available on SHI France with a price tag of 1068 euros (approximately 8,341 yuan). The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is listed as 1,299 euros (approximately 10,145 yuan). While detailed specifications haven’t been revealed yet, the product listing confirms a resolution of 3,440 x 1,440 and a refresh rate of 175Hz.

Samsung is likely equipping this new model with their latest generation QD-OLED panel technology. Compared to the first generation, these panels offer several potential improvements:

  • A different pixel structure for enhanced display quality
  • “Ultra-efficient EL” technology for increased brightness and lower power consumption
  • IntelliSense AI 2.0 technology to further reduce the risk of burn-in

While not featured in this specific model, third-generation QD-OLED panels introduce “quantum enhancement” technology for even better burn-in resistance and improved energy efficiency through AI algorithms. Additionally, they utilize a “micro-dot inkjet process” allowing for higher pixel density, enabling 4K resolution in a 32-inch display.

Based on the presumed panel technology, the new 34-inch Odyssey OLED G8 can be expected to offer superior picture quality, increased brightness, reduced power consumption, and enhanced durability compared to the original 2023 model.
