Samsung has filed a trademark application for “990 EVO Plus” with the Korea Industrial Property Information Service Center (KIPRIS), according to a report on June 19th. All this suggests an upcoming upgrade to the company’s popular 990 EVO solid-state drive (SSD).

The trademark application specifies storage products like flash drives and SSDs

Samsung’s EVO Series SSDs are known for their balance of performance and endurance, making them a popular choice for everyday users and professionals alike. The current 990 EVO boasts impressive read/write speeds and power efficiency, features likely to be further enhanced in the upcoming Plus model.

The trademark application specifies storage products like USB flash drives, NAND flash memories, and SSDs. This reinforces the expectation that “990 EVO Plus” refers to an upgraded SSD within Samsung’s EVO lineup.

Interestingly, Samsung also filed a trademark for “9100 PRO.” While this trademark falls under the storage and semiconductor category, it deviates from Samsung’s current naming conventions for consumer-grade storage products. The purpose of the “9100 PRO” trademark remains unclear.
