Xiaomi has officially launched its first outdoor camera solar panel in China. The solar panel is designed specifically for outdoor cameras and only supports the Xiaomi BW500 outdoor camera, The new solar panels deliver power up to 5W for the outdoor camera. The camera solar panel was first unveiled recently but the pricing details were missing.
The new Xiaomi outdoor camera solar panel is made of high-efficiency monocrystalline silicon material and offers continuous recording for the camera. Xiaomi says the solar panels can achieve high efficiency when they have up to 3 hours of direct sunlight every day. The solar panel adopts IP66 dust and waterproof protection for optimal usage. It has a waterproof USB-C charging cable while its charging port has a wing-shaped soft rubber design. This effectively prevents rainwater from entering the device during charging.
Xiaomi has earlier last month released the Xiaomi outdoor camera BW500 via crowdfunding. The crowdfunding price of the camera was 369 yuan ($51). The BW500 has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and has a large aperture of F1.6. It uses a 136-degree field of view wide-angle lens. The camera is also equipped with a powerful infrared, full-color LED lighting setup. The LED lights can be intelligently lit in dim environments to achieve clear night vision up to 10 meters.
The Xiaomi BW500 camera comes with a 10,000mAh battery which can last up to six months, according to Xiaomi. The model utilized a low-power algorithm and can adjust battery usage according to scene conditions. The extended battery life of the model is further enhanced when it is connected to the Xiaomi outdoor camera solar panel. This will provide an unending supply of power for the device. The Xiaomi outdoor solar panel is priced at 199 yuan ($27) in China and is available at Xiaomi Mall.
