Realme is reportedly working on the Realme GT 7 series of smartphones for the Chinese market.  The brand is expected to announce a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3-powered smartphone in July in China. Initial leaks referred to it as the Realme GT 6, but more recent reports speculate that its name might change to the Realme GT 7. At present, there is no clarity on its moniker. What’s officially confirmed is that Realme plans to launch the Realme GT 7 Pro in India by the end of this year. The same phone is also expected to debut in China in December 2024, as the company launched the Realme GT 5 Pro in December 2023. Today, tipster Digital Chat Station released a Weibo post to leak the key specifications of the Pro variant months before its official announcement.

Realme GT 7 Pro leak by DCS

DCS’ Weibo post suggests that the Realme GT 7 Pro will have an OLED 8T LTPO screen that offers a 1.5K resolution. It will be a customized display panel supplied by a domestic display manufacturer.

Under the hood, the Realme GT 7 Pro may feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset, 16 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage. Although the leaker did not disclose the device’s battery size, he asserted that it boasts a sizable silicon-anode battery, known for its superior energy density and rapid charging capabilities over conventional lithium-ion batteries. To recall, the GT 5 Pro housed a 5,400mAh battery, which suggests that the GT 7 Pro may pack a battery of around 6,000mAh.

The leak also hints that the Realme GT 7 Pro will have a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom support. Unfortunately, the leaker did not share the details of the other cameras on the device. Recent reports have claimed that it could be Realme’s first phone to feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
