Canon dropped a teaser image today hinting at the release of a new EOS C movie camera on June 5th. While details are scarce, the image suggests it might be the long-rumored EOS C70 Mark II.

The teaser image has the silhouette of the camera resembling the existing EOS C70

The teaser image features text in Japanese that translates to “Cinema” and “June 5th,” with a countdown timer underneath. The silhouette of the camera itself closely resembles the existing EOS C70, a full-frame mirrorless camera designed for filmmakers and cinematographers. This has led many to believe the upcoming release will be the EOS C70 Mark II, an update to the popular camera.

The original EOS C70 boasts a Super 35mm Dual Gain Output (DGO) sensor capable of over 16 stops of dynamic range. It also features Canon’s unique Dual Pixel CMOS Autofocus technology for sharp focus, even when recording at high frame rates.

With the official announcement set for June 5th, we can expect to learn more about the rumored EOS C70 Mark II’s features, specifications, and pricing in the coming days. Stay tuned for updates!
