Xiaomi is set to launch a new budget from its Redmi sub-brand. The device is part of its popular numbered series and is expected to be called the Redmi 13 4G. But what do we know about this device? And will it continue the brand’s budget phone legacy? Here’s everything you need to know.

Redmi 13 4G

1. Redmi 13 4G: Familiar Design and Display

The Chinese tech giant’s upcoming budget phone was spotted in recent leaks, which revealed most of its specifications and renders. These leaked images also showcased its entire design. The rear features a flat panel with three circular modules for the two image sensors and an LED flash. Redmi’s new device was seen in two color options, namely Midnight Black and Ocean Blue variants. Although, a previous report also hinted at Pearl Pink and Yellow colors as well.

The overall look seems quite familiar to the Redmi 13 5G. On the front, we can see a flat panel with a punch hole cutout for selfies and video calls. The screen is expected to be a 6.79-inch LCD panel that offers a 90Hz refresh rate and Full HD+ resolution.

2. Budget chip for the entry-level phone

Unlike the Redmi 13 5G, which is expected to pack the 5G enabled Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC, the Redmi 13 4G is expected to be equipped with the MediaTek Helio G91 Ultra. However, an older report had also claimed the Helio G88 SoC. But regardless, both processors are similar in terms of performance and are usually seen in budget phones.

This Helio chip is rumored to be paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. The battery parameters are still unclear, but it would likely offer a 5,000mAh cell like the Redmi 13 5G. We can also expect fast charging rates around 18W.

3. 108MP main camera on a budget phone

The camera department is seeing the greatest improvement by far. From a 50-megapixel primary sensor on the Redmi 12, leaks have claimed that the Redmi 13 will feature a 108-megapixel main shooter at the back. It is worth noting that higher camera resolution doesn’t directly imply better camera quality. But for an entry level device, this is still quite impressive. At the expected price range, there are brands like Infinix that offer 108-megapixel cameras.

4. Expected Pricing

As mentioned above, the Redmi 13 4G is expected to come in two storage configurations, namely one with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a more affordable 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage variant. The base 128GB will reportedly cost 199 Euros (roughly 216 US Dollars), while the higher-end 256GB option is rumored to have a 229 Euros (roughly 249 US Dollars) price tag.
