Still fresh from the launch of the C38 smartphone with a ceramic-like back design, Chinese electronics manufacturer OUKITEL has launched a new Android tablet. The OUKITEL OT5S, as it is called, is a basic tablet that comes with the Widevine L1 certification and support for mobile communications. The new OUKITEL Android tablet is designed for users who are interested in browsing or viewing media and not for intensive tasks.

The OUKITEL OT5S Android tablet has a 12-inch display with a resolution of 2000 x 1200 pixels. It can be used for streaming content from platforms like Disney+ and Prime Video, thanks to its Widevine L1 certification. The output from such streaming services will be high quality, according to the specification. The tablet is protected from scratches and damage by its Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

The OT5S tablet is powered by the Unisoc Tiger T606 processor with a RAM capacity of 8GB and 256GB of storage. The RAM is expandable via a swap file and it runs on Android 14. The tablet is open to the latest updates on the operating system although its quality may be under par when compared with flagship offerings in the segment. The Oukitel OT5S tablet has four built-in speakers that can provide good audio playback. The main camera has a resolution of 16MP which is okay for basic images and videos.

The Android tablet weighs 560g and is about 7.5mm thick. It has an 8,250mAh battery that can last up to 10 hours when playing media. Otherwise, the battery can carry the tablet for up to 24 hours on a single charge. It is possible to use the tablet with a keyboard and it also supports a pen input. The pressure level specification for the pen input is however not provided. The tablet also supports 4G mobile network connectivity to two mobile networks.

Pricing & Availability

The price of the OT5S Android tablet is $220 although the model is not available to buy currently, according to the company.
