Design
It is an iPhone, so the design of the iPhone 13 Pro Max is obviously more iconic. But if we exclude the huge camera module, the Vivo X70 Pro+ is more attractive in terms of aesthetics. It comes in a special variant with an eco leather back and it has a very high screen to body ratio without any notch: you only get a small hole placed centrally in the display. On the other hand, if you need a better build quality, then you should go for the iPhone 13 Pro Max. It offers better water resistance (up to 6 meters of depth with the IP68 certification) and it is made with a Ceramic Shield back (sturdier than other glasses) and a stainless steel frame instead of aluminum.
Display
On the paper, the display of the Vivo X70 Pro+ looks more advanced. It is the first phone to sport the new Samsung E5 AMOLED display and its specifications are impressive. This screen has a diagonal of 6.78 inches and it comes with the LTPO technology enabling an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. It also has a high Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3200 pixels, a high brightness, and the HDR10+ certification. Last but not least, it is able to display up to one billion colors and it is equipped with an in-display fingerprint reader. With the iPhone 13 Pro Max, you get the Face ID for the authentication, thanks to an SL 3D sensor placed in the notch.
Specs & Software
Vivo X70 Pro+ has the best processor in the Android world and iPhone 13 Pro Max has the best one in the Apple world. What makes the real difference is the optimization of the operating system rather than the performance difference of the two processors. The iPhone 13 Pro Max should be able to provide faster performance in most of the scenarios, as well as a more stable user experience. No matter that the Vivo X70 Pro+ doubles its RAM with a whopping 12 GB. Vivo X70 Pro+ is based on Android 11, while the iPhone 13 Pro Max runs a more advanced iOS 15.
Camera
The Vivo X70 Pro+ looks like a more versatile phone if we talk about the camera setup. It has a 50 MP main sensor with a very bright focal aperture, laser autofocus, and OIS which shoots great photos in low light conditions and provides a very high definition, even for videos that can be recorded with an 8K resolution. Further, it has an amazing 8 MP periscope sensor with 5x optical zoom, a telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and a great 48 MP ultrawide camera. You do not get such awesome camera hardware with the iPhone 13 Pro Max, but it is able to record better videos. However, it should be inferior when it comes to photos.
Battery
The Vivo X70 Pro+ has a bigger battery than iPhone 13 Pro Max, but this does not matter: the iPhone still lasts more on a single charge because of iOS optimization. But the Vivo X70 Pro+ has faster charging with a power of 55W and 50W respectively for wired and wireless charging.
Price
Vivo X70 Pro+ is priced at €720/$833 in China and it starts from €930/$1076 in India. We still do not know how much it will cost in Europe. iPhone 13 Pro Max starts from around €1200/$1389 in Europe, while in India you need about €1500/$1735 to get it.
