Recently, Chinese smartphone maker Vivo confirmed that the company is working on a new mobile operating system named OriginOS, which will be replacing the existing FunTouch OS custom user interface.

Today, the company has confirmed that the OriginOS will be launched on 18th November. For this, Vivo is holding a special event in Shenzhen, China. The new system is said to have an Anthropomorphic design and aims to offer a new experience to the users.

In the previous teasers for the upcoming operating system, it was revealed that the company that the project is being developed under Origin Studio carries the tagline “Brave New World”, which also confirmed a complete rehaul of the user interface.

Earlier reports have revealed that the company will be offering two different types of interface for the users — OriginOS and Stock Android. Interestingly, the users will be able to choose and switch between the two options.

Along with the launch of this new Android-based mobile OS, Vivo is expected to announce several other products at this 2020 Developer Conference, including new apps, games, business partnerships, and more.

The company had previously stated that the upcoming custom user interface will be available for Vivo’s existing smartphones as well. To know for sure which devices will be compatible with the OriginOS, we will have to wait for the official launch.
