OnePlus 7 Pro was recently put through DxOMark’s audio test and results reveal that its sound output is almost as good as the Galaxy Note 10+. DxOMark gave the device a score of 68 in audio playback and 56 in recording, taking the overall score to 65. This would place it below the likes of the Huawei Mate 20 X and the iPhone 11 Pro Max who currently rank high on the list.

The DxOMark audio test reveals that the OnePlus 7 Pro has a pretty good audio playback. The stereo speakers are pretty loud, however, the test reveals that the phone’s speakers are better suited for music and movie playback than gaming audio. Bass is not exactly its strong point and the audio output is slightly lower in volume than other phones like the Huawei Mate 20 X. However, the phone managed to output overall balanced audio, giving it a pretty good score of 68 in playback.

OnePlus 7 Pro’s recording score isn’t that great though. At 56 points, the phone ranks well below Mate 20 X and Galaxy Note 10 5G’s scores of 70 and 61 respectively. In fact, it is the lowest score for recording among the nine smartphones reviewed by DxOMark, even lower than Sony Xperia 5 and Honor 20 Pro. DxOMark points out that ‘Recorded voices often sounded unnatural and metallic, with their sound envelopes compromised by excessive compression’.

But if you are not recording audio through its microphones, the OnePlus 7 Pro should perform well in playing music and movie audio through its stereo speakers.
