Last month, HTC CEO Yvew Maitres claimed that the reason behind the company’s downfall in smartphone business was that it stopped innovating on smartphones. Even though is now concentrating on its virtual reality business, it hasn’t completely given up on its smartphone division yet. In June, it had debut the HTC Desire U19e and Desire 19+ in Taiwan. In August, it launched the Wildfire X smartphone in India with a budget-friendly pricing. Today, the company has unveiled a lighter version of the Desire 19+. The handset appears like Wildfire X and also borrows some of its specs.
HTC Desire 19s Specifications and Features
The Desire 19s has a two-tone design on its rear. The top portion has a glossy touch while the remaining part has a textured appeal. The handset features a 6.2-inch IPS LCD display with the trendy waterdrop notch. The 19:9 display produces HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels.
The Helio P22 chipset assisted by 3 GB of RAM fuels the Desire 19s. The native storage of the smartphone is 32 GB and it has a shared SIM slot for adding a microSD card. The Sense UI based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device.
The rear shell of the phone has a dual-LED flash assisted triple camera setup. It includes an f/1.85 aperture 13-megapixel main shooter, an f/2.2 aperture 118-degree 5-megapixel ultrawide lens and an f/2.2 aperture depth assist lens of 5-megapixel. The smartphone features a front-facing camera of 16-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture. The photography features that are available on the smartphone are AI beauty mode, enhanced low-light photography, HDR, face detection, portrait mode, capability to record video and shoot photos at the same time and 1080p video shooting.
The HTC Desire 19s has a large-size battery of 3,850mAh capacity. However, it supports only 10W charging. The other features that are available on the smartphone are dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, USB and 3.5mm audio jack. A fingerprint scanner is available on the backside of the Desire 19s.
HTC Desire 19s Price
HTC Desire 19s has debuted in Taiwan with a pricing of TWD 5,990 (~$196). Free Blue and Yashi Black are the color variants of the phone. There is no word on the international availability of the Desire 19s.
