A report from South Korea emerged a few days back stating that Samsung will close down its last factory in China later this month. Samsung went on to confirm that it was indeed shutting down its last factory in China. Samsung Galaxy S10 Smoky Blue featured

With the closure of the factory, employees have been given their severance benefits and it includes a free Galaxy S10+, a wristwatch and some cash for staff that have stayed for up to 10 years. Some employees who had stayed for a lesser period got the Galaxy A80. The entire winding down process was captured in a short video which you can watch from here.

Samsung Galaxy S10Samsung once operated three mobile phone manufacturing plants in China, one in Shenzhen, Tianjin and this last one in Huizhou. The factories in Shenzhen and Tianjin were both closed in 2018. The Huizhou plant located in the Guangdong province of China was opened in December 1992 and started production in 1993. It is presently the only functional Samsung production plant in China and around June this year, the company scaled down production at the plant with reports of workers getting laid off.
