Today, Realme announced the highly anticipated Realme X and Realme 3i budget-friendly phone through an unveil event in India. While the Realme 3i is a new smartphone that is arriving first in India, the Realme X is essential the very same phone that was made official in China in May. The Realme 3i has a starting price of Rs. 7,999 (~$116) whereas the Realme X has arrived in India with a beginning price tag of Rs. 16,999 (~$248).

Realme X Specifications and Features

The Realme X smartphone is equipped with a 6.53-inch AMOLED display that supports 1080 x 2340 pixels full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The notch-less display is integrated with in-screen fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is fueled by 12nm Snapdragon 710 chipset and up to 8 GB of RAM. The highest version of the phone features 128 GB of built-in storage. The handset does not feature a microSD card slot.

The ColorOS 6.1 based Android 9 Pie OS runs on the device along with Realme’s own theme. The dual camera setup of the Realme X has a dual camera setup that comprises of Sony IMX586 48-megapixel primary lens and a depth sensor of 5-megapixel. The pop-up camera module of the Realme X features a Sony IMX471 16-megapixel selfie camera. The front and rear cameras are equipped with 4-in-1 pixel binning technology that makes it possible to capture brighter shots in low-light scenarios. The front camera also supports AI beautification features.

The Realme X is packed with a 3,765mAh battery. It carries support for VOOC 3.0 Flash Charge 20W rapid charging. The other features of the smartphone include AI face unlock, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C and 3.5mm audio jack.

Realme X Price and Availability

The Realme X smartphone has been announced in two variants in India such as 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage at Rs.  16,999 (~$248) and 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage at Rs. 19,999 (~$291). It can be bought in two colors like Polar White and Space blue. The Realme X Master Edition model that has been designed by Japanese industrial designer named Naoto Fukasawa comes with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of inbuilt storage. Onion and Garlic are the two color editions of the smartphone. The Realme X Master Edition costs Rs. 19,999. There is no 6 GB RAM edition of the smartphone for India.

The Chinese firm is also selling a special Spiderman edition of the smartphone in India. The Realme X Spider-Man Far From Home Gift Box includes a Polar White edition handset that comes with a Spiderman theme and custom wallpapers. It comes in a big red colored box that also includes a VOOC 3.0 Flash Charger. The Spiderman version of the Realme X is priced at Rs. 20,999 (~$306).

Realme will be holding the first sale of the Realme X smartphone on July 24 in India at 12 PM. It can be purchased through Realme’s online store and Flipkart. Launch offers for Realme X buyers include 10 percent instant discount for SBI credit card users and no cost EMI. Realme.com is offering Rs. 750 worth free Paytm membership that brings benefits of up to Rs. 20,000. For early buyers, there will be “Hate-to-Wait” sale of Realme X on Flipkart on July 18 at 8 PM. Soon, it will be also made available through offline stores.
