Motorola China had hinted that the Motorola P50 smartphone will be launching during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai 2019 tech trade show that was held between June 25 and June 28 in China. However, it did not come true. Today, Lenovo Group VP Chang Cheng took to Weibo to release a poster of the phone to confirm on its key specifications. Cheng has also revealed that the Motorola P50 will go official in China in this week.
Motorola P50 Specifications
The Motorola P50 poster reveals that the smartphone houses a 21:9 superwide display. The handset features a 6.34-inch display that produces full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2520 pixels. It carries support for DCI-P3 color gamut. The display has a punch-hole at its top-left for housing the 25-megapixel selfie camera that comes with features like HDR, NPU smart recognition and AI smart shoot.
The 3D glass rear of the Motorola P50 is curved on all four sides. The Moto logo on the rear is embedded with a fingerprint reader. The LED flash assisted dual camera setup of the phone has an OIS enabled 48-megapixel main lens with f/1.75 aperture with 1.6micron pixel size. It offers features like night scene mode, intelligent scene recognition and 4K video shooting. The other features of the Motorola P50 are moto gestures, Dolby sound, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, USB-C, dual 4G VoLTE, hybrid SIM slot and 128 GB of built-in storage. The handset will be releasing in Blue and Brown colors in China.
Motorola P50, a Rebranded Motorola One Vision?
Last year, the Motorola One series phones that were released in international markets were made available in China as Motorola P30 series smartphones. Hence, the Motorola One Vision that has gone official in markets like Brazil and India could be arriving as Motorola P50 in China.
The Motorola One Vision is an Android One phone featuring 6.34-inch punch-hole display that supports 21:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution. It is powered by 2.2 GHz Exynos 9609 octa-core chipset, 4 GB of RAM and 3,500mAh battery that is equipped with 15W fast charging. It has an internal storage of 128 GB and it runs on Android 9 Pie OS. It has a front-facing camera of 25-megapixel and a 48-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual camera setup. The Motorola P50’s Android 9 Pie OS is expected to be skinned with ZUI from Motorola.
