Following its international debut, Motorola has launched its latest flagship smartphone, the Edge 50 Ultra, in the Indian market. It’s now the most premium offering in the Edge 50 series, joining the Edge 50 and Edge 50 Pro. Let’s walk through the specs and price of the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra in India here.
Motorola Edge 50 Ultra Specifications
The most striking feature of the Edge 50 Ultra is arguably its unique rear panel option – real wood with a pleasant fragrance. It is also available in vegan leather finishes in Peach Fuzz and Forest Grey colors.
The display is a 6.7-inch Super 1.5K (1440p) pOLED panel with HDR10+ certification. It offers a billion shades of color with 100% DCI-P3 color space and a smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Gamers will appreciate the 360Hz touch rate in gaming mode. Brightness can reach up to 2500 nits, and the display is certified for HDR 10+.
The overall build quality of the phone seems robust with a front made of 3D Corning Gorilla Glass Victus, frames made of sandblasted aluminum and the phone is also IP68 water-resistant, offering protection against dust and water ingress.
Under the hood, the Edge 50 Ultra runs the latest Android 14 and is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM with virtual RAM expansion capabilities and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera system is a quad-camera setup on the back, featuring a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide with macro vision, a 64MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and a laser autofocus sensor. The front camera is a 50MP lens with AI features. Audio is handled by dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning and three microphones.
Battery life is rated at over a day’s use (up to 40 hours) with the 4500mAh battery. It top-ups via a 125W TurboPower adapter which can reportedly deliver a full day’s charge in under 7 minutes. There’s also support for up to 50W wireless charging and 10W wireless power sharing.
Security features include an in-display fingerprint reader, face unlock, ThinkShield for business-grade security, and Moto Secure for additional protection. As for connectivity, it has a USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.4, Wi-Fi 7, and NFC.
Price and Availability
The Motorola Edge 50 Ultra is launched in India for Rs 59,999 for the sole 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant. However, with launch discounts and bank offers, you can bring the price down to Rs 49,999. The first sale kicks off on June 24th, 2024.
