Back in December 2021, the Huawei Watch D made its debut in China with the ability to monitor blood pressure and ECG. While rumors have been going around that Huawei could soon launch a successor the the Watch D, the brand has not made anything official.
That being said, a new software update (HarmonyOS 2.1.0.399) for the Watch D has recently arrived bringing some new features and optimization changes. You can take a look at the changelog below.

New Features
- New Sleep Mode: When enabled, raise to wake will be disabled.
- Long press app icons in quick access menu to open the app
- Alarm clock can now intelligently skip weekends and holidays
- New ‘Show notification when screen is on’ toggle (Settings > Notifications): When enabled, the watch will light up when you receive a notification.
Optimizations
- Do not disturb mode: Raise to wake will now function normally.
- Alarm clock function optimized: you can now set up to 10 alarms.
- The entry point for the ‘Show notifications only when watch is worn’ toggle has been moved from Settings > Accessibility to Settings > Notifications for a better user experience.
- Optimized content display on some screens.
- Improved system stability in some scenarios.
Currently, this update is only available in China, however, since the Huawei Watch D is available in many regions outside of China, we can expect a similar update to arrive in the global variants soon.
